It is a portfolio of separately managed businesses both global and local.
The story begins with the formation of Chas P Hayley & Co in 1878. The formation of Hayleys & Kenny followed in 1909 as a partnership between Chas P Hayley and W W Kenny in Colombo. In 1936, that partnership became a private limited liability Company. Chas P Hayley & Co in 1944 became a private limited liability Company and a fully owned subsidiary of Hayley & Kenny Limited.
With Hayleys Limited being formed in 1952 to acquire the undertaking of Hayleys & Kenny Limited and becoming a public Company in 1954, its portfolio of businesses began to grow. From shipping to agriculture, fibre to rubber, chemicals to plantations, consumer products and fabric to power generation, Hayleys has a range of products, services, companies and strategic partnerships. At the core of its operations, lies the innovating spirit that adds value to local raw materials, a belief in organic growth and a commitment to long term relationships nutured by knowledge, skills and talent.
Today Hayleys, rated AA(lka) by Fitch Ratings, stands tall among the top Sri Lankan multinational conglomerates and accounts for
